There's little evidence in Alberta that Spring is on its way but... IT IS!
The Alberta Soaring Council will again combining their popular Spring Safety Seminar with the ASC AGM. The national association, the Soaring Association of Canada, has moved their AGM to Calgary for this year so we are amalgamating all three events.
The morning events will include the AGM’s, coffee and conversation. Our luncheon will be catered by Sunterra and we will use that opportunity to present our National and Provincial trophies.
We have received TC approval for the Safety Seminar to qualify as a recurrent training event.
As per TC requirements the afternoon will include some of the following:
- Review of the National Safety Report
- Review of the effects of turbulence and wind shear on an airplane in the landing circuit as well as the appropriate techniques to setup for a safe circuit and landing
- The neuroscience of safety
- Threats to glider flight safety
- Safety initiatives
The event happens soon, so your early attention to letting us know that you will be attending is appreciated.
