SEARCH tips
In order to minimize "split" searches, spelling has been standardized to one version as much as possible; for example, accented words in German and French have been anglicized. If searching for a person, just use the surname. If searching for an aircraft, use last three characters of registration mark or try model designation with or without dashes. All accident/incident entries are listed under "Safety". If looking for info on clubs, use chief distinguishing title word(s) (ex. York) or the abbreviation of well-known clubs (ex. MSC for Montreal Soaring Council).
 
ARCHIVE issues    
All the magazine issues from the present back to 1970 are archived as .pdf files, and earlier issues are progressively being constructed as time permits. Pdfs from 1981 and forward are not always precisely identical to the original magazine as only the text was originally saved in the diskette storage era – some photographs or ads were no longer available. Pages were scanned, then the text OCR’ed and placed. Though a more lengthy process than simply scanning each page, this allowed errors in the original text and poorly printed photos to be corrected, making some of these archive copies better than the original.

Issues prior to 1981 are just scanned (but cleaned up, again to correct physical damage to the scanned pages and other problems where found). 

CONTRIBUTIONS
Material published in free flight is contributed by individuals or clubs for the enjoyment of Canadian soaring enthusiasts. The accuracy of the material is the responsibility of the contributor. No payment is offered for submitted material. An e-mail in any common word processing format is welcome (preferably as a text file or a plain e-mail). All material is subject to editing to the space limitations and the quality standards of the magazine. Send images as 300 dpi .jpg or .tif files. Material from free flight may be reprinted without prior permission, but SAC requests that both the magazine and the author be given acknowledgement.

Free Flight CD
A CD containing .pdf files of all issues of free flight from 1970 through to the current issue plus a large and growing number of excellent photos (mostly 7x10 - 300 dpi images - many from the cover) is available from the editor.
Cost - 6$ - postage included. Payable by check or through PayPal.
